Lavender Vinegar – Apple Cider is Preferred
Ingredients
- 7 Pounds Apples (Peeled and Cored, Honeycrisp Preferred)
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Lavender Simple Syrup (Optional)
- 1/4 Cup Lavender Infused Vinegar (Lavender Infused Apple Cider Vinegar Preferred)
- 1/2 Cup Apple Cider
- 2 teaspoons Lavender Extract (or Vanilla Extract)
- 1/2 teaspoon Culinary Lavender Buds (Ground)
- 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon Cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon Course Kosher Salt
Instructions
- Add all ingredients into a crockpot, add lid and cook on high for 8 hours. Remove lid and cook for another hour. *
- Use an immersion blender, or a regular blender, to puree hot apples and juices.
- After pureed, transfer hot apple butter in hot, sterilized canning jars. Fill to within 1/4 inch to top, wipe any spilled apple butter and seat lid and secure rings to jars.
- Enjoy within 2 weeks or use a water bath canning method linked in notes. Process in water bath for 15 minutes.
Notes
*Alternatively, you may cook on a stovetop low for 3 hours with lid, remove lid for a half an hour.
