Ingredient Substitutes

The lavender simple syrup with citrus and vinegar infused lavender will lend a magenta color to this vinaigrette.  If you use substitutes for these items, your lavender vinaigrette will be a pale yellow.

That being said, you may use regular vinegar, oil and omit lavender simple syrup but you must use herbes de provence to achieve a slight lavender taste profile to this vinaigrette.

To achieve the best flavor profile, no substitutions are recommended.

Instructions

  1. Add to 8 Ounce Mason Jar. Oil, Vinegar, Herbes de Provence, Garlic, Kosher Salt and Lemon. Set aside.
  2. Add to small glass bowl. Maple Syrup and Lavender Simple Syrup. Microwave for 20 Seconds. Stir well.
  3. Add Syrups to Mason Jar and Add Lid. Shake Well or Blend with Small Immersion Blender.
  4. Use Immediately or Store in Refrigerator for 2 Weeks for Future Use. Shake Well Before Using.

Notes

Recommended to store in refrigerator for one to two days before using to allow flavor of the lavender, oregano, basil and thyme in the herbes de provence to “infuse” into vinaigrette.
